Nest Site Habitat Use and Distance Surveys

The goal of nest site habitat use and distance surveys is to collect data on the type and location of important habitats used by swallow species during the breeding season and to calculate the maximum distances swallows travel from their nests.

Methods and field data sheets for surveying habitats used by swallows and distances traveled from nest sites are included below.

Data entry can be completed online or through the Excel spreadsheet found below. Using the Excel spreadsheet permits the entry of multiple swallow habitat use and distance observations in one file on separate rows.
